Back in August 2020, I posted a blog about SOAR stories. SOAR stories are a fantastic way to reflect on Situations that seemed challenging at the time because of certain Obstacles. In order to succeed, you took Action and the Result was something you can be proud of, and which contributed to who you are today. It built character.
I use this exercise to help my clients build confidence by pointing out the common attributes, character traits and patterns they exhibit when creating solutions or facing challenges.

Wig Documenting for Disney Live Show

I was contacted to be on a Disney Live Touring show with Feld Entertainment. The costume department asked the cast if we wanted to help with styling wigs for the show, which would come with extra pay. A co-worker and myself signed up for the position.
What we didn’t know was that there was very little to no training on how to style the wigs. I asked the head manager of costuming of we were able to get more training on how the wigs were styles, since we were dealing with iconic princess and princes.
We were granted two days to spend with the head of wigs at Disney World to go over with us, step-by-step, how the wigs were styled. My co-worker and I took detailed pictures and notes to document the process of over 20 wigs.
I took the pictures and notes and transformed them into our wig bible for the show. The head of costuming reviewed the procedure documents and loved it so much that she wanted to use it for every show that was touring!
